Uruguay Thoughts:

A great day trip, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful and peaceful place to go.  We also hired a moped to see what we wanted to see which was great fun.  A must do if in Buenos Aires…  Terry

Colonia, Uruguay

You hear lots of people mention this trip as a thing to do in Buenos Aires.  I think it is to get away from the madness of the BA city to a place like some olde worlde seaside port in Cornwall.  It’s peaceful and quiet with not many cars and a very slow pace of life feel.

We hired a moped which was a great way to get around and see the sights.  Glad we didn’t go to the capital city of Montevideo as from looking at the postcards it looks as built up as Buenos Aires.

A useless piece of trivia information about this country is that the name “Fray Bentos” the meats pies, originated here!
