We finally arrived here after a mad 2 weeks packing up our lives and things.  This was supposed to be a connecting flight onto Lima, but we chose to make it a two night stop over to see the city.

It was very tempting to stay in bed for two days after the last couple of weeks of madness before leaving…  But we ventured out, hit the metro and walked around various places.  It seemed a very safe city with not the usual sites of sky scrapers but lots of old traditional buildings around many squares.

We thought with going to quite a few Catholic countries we would see a procession or two.  Well not to be disappointed we saw the largest Holy Communion, with hundreds of people being blessed by hundreds of priests by the palace.

We also did an open top bus tour which was a good way to see the city and started our coffee and cake tour :o)

Next stop into the unknown of Peru!!!
