				South Africa Thoughts:

What can you say here!  We’ve
been to very poor countries on our travels, countries with
troubles, but none so quite messed up as this place.  City life
is confined to just staying safe with maximum security.  You can
see why so many South Africans live in the UK!  Some South
Africans we met seemed to be deep down racists who still expect
things done for them, you can hear it in their conversations and
see it in public places.  But get away from all that crap and
the country is a beautiful place with lots of great wild animals
and coast line.  Even though SA is not quite ready for mass
tourism yet I just hope they get there for the 2010 World Cup.
Also long gone are the days of it being cheap here as money now
easily falls out your pockets just getting by with the basics!…

This is a country with so many
problems still and not a place you can easily relax, but you
can’t fault it for its beautiful countryside, mountains and
wilderness.  You don’t realise how much we take our safety and
security for granted in many ways until you visit a country like
this where people are so safety and crime conscious.  There is
so much natural wilderness here though and the safari, trip to
the Drakensburg and journey along the Garden Route were all real
highlights and really showed me the real South Africa…
